Grove RTs proving popular in Poland

Grove’s sole Poland dealer, Grabcranex, has sold and delivered two 45 t (50
USt) RT650E rough-terrain mobile cranes to Gastel, one of the country’s
largest crane rental companies.
Warsaw-based Grabcranex delivered
both RTs to Gastel’s facility in the Baltic port of Gdynia in northern Poland.
Gastel is using the cranes in the port’s shipyards to perform a variety of
duties on docked vessels.
The RT650E is part of Grove’s RT600E range
and offers a four-section main boom of 32 m (105 ft) with a maximum tip height
of 34 m (112 ft). A 15.5 m (51 ft) telescoping boom extension increases
maximum tip height to 49 m (162 ft). The crane also features four steering
modes, a full-power boom, and an ergonomically designed E-Series cab.
Pawel
Kedzierski, managing director of Grabcranex, said demand for modern lifting
equipment was the reason behind Grove’s recent success in Eastern Europe.

Grove product continues to demonstrate quality,” he said. “The need for new
and efficient machines continues to grow in this part of the world, and the
RT600E range offers some of the best capacities in its class. The RT650E has
excellent maintenance access and is extremely versatile. It is a perfect
compact all-round crane for small and medium-sized lifts.”
Gastel
has four facilities located in Warsaw, Gdynia, Wroclaw, and Katowice, Poland.
The company also specializes in civil engineering and has a fleet of 30 cranes
ranging between 18 t (19.8 USt) to 200 t (220 USt), which include a GMK5130-1
(GMK5165 in the US), a GMK4080-1 (GMK4100 in the US), an RT 36/40TSC, an RT
20/25TSC, as well as the new RT650E machines.
Grabcranex was
incorporated in 1990 and currently has two offices, one in Poznan and another
in the Polish capital of Warsaw. It also has three service bases across
Poland, in Plock, Gdansk, and Katowice.
