Grove is launching a new 35 t (35 USt) rated rough-terrain mobile crane that
will be built at the company’s manufacturing facility in Shady Grove,
Pennsylvania, US. The new model will be designated RT535E and will feature a
four-section 31 m (102 ft) full-power boom. A 7.6 – 13.7 m (26 ft – 45 ft)
offsettable swingaway extension is available giving the RT535E a maximum
possible tip height of 47 m (154 ft).
The crane’s rectangular boom
features high-strength steel, which offers weight savings and improved lifting
capacity. The new cab design features a more modern appearance and an
improved, streamlined dashboard control panel. The RT535E also features a Work
Area Definition System, which allows the operator to pre-set safe working
areas.
Maximum line pull from the main hoist is 5,280 kg (11,640 lb),
while maximum line speed is 136 m/minute (445 ft/minute). The RT535E uses 16
mm (0.6 inch) wire rope and can accommodate 137 m (450 ft) of rope on both the
main and auxiliary hoists. Power comes from a Cummins QSB 5.9 liter
six-cylinder diesel engine which offers 116 kW (155 hp) at 2500 rpm. The crane
can travel at a maximum speed of 40 kph (25 mph).
Doyle Bryant,
director of product development and marketing for Grove, said the new RT fits
nicely in the company’s product range between its existing 27.2 t (30 USt) and
36.3 t (40 USt) cranes.
“This new Grove is an excellent addition to
our product line-up and bears all the hallmarks of Grove quality our customers
have come to expect. It is strong, reliable, and easy to transport – a real
workhorse on the jobsite,” he said. “The RT remains a very popular crane not
only here in the US, but on jobsites around the world. We expect this new
RT535E to generate interest around the globe.”
