Continued growth, personnel expansion, and the need for increased resources has driven Manitowoc Crane Group’s Asia-Pacific operation in Singapore to relocate to new premises in the city-state.

The new office – located in Kwong Min Road, Singapore – opened last month, with 80 customers, dealers, and guests in attendance. The opening ceremony was also used to commemorate the handover of the first 220 t (250 USt) Grove GMK6220-L (GMK6250-L in the US), which was sold to local customer, Hiap Tong Crane & Transport.

Guests were invited to take a tour of the new office and to view the increased capacity stock warehouse in the new Manitowoc Crane CARE facility, located at the rear of the building. The new facility offers increased parts availability, improved workshop facilities, and a training department.

John Stewart, vice president of sales for MCG Asia-Pacific, said he was pleased with the event’s turnout, and is positive about the changes made.

“The market has been very strong in the Asia-Pacific region,” he said. “Because demand has been so high, we have to keep growing and adding more staff, which is why we have moved to our new facilities. We look forward to the new challenges ahead, and we are certain that this move will prove a positive one.”

MCG’s Singapore office serves as a regional center for the operation of Manitowoc Crane Group Asia-Pacific. It employs 44 people, including 20 dedicated to Manitowoc Crane CARE services.

The opening ceremony was enjoyed by customers and staff. Entertainment included a traditional ‘lion dance’ performance, which took place just prior to the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon.
