David Hardin has joined Manitowoc Crane CARE’s Americas management team as
general manager of Manitowoc Remanufacturing Operations. He works from the
Manitowoc Crane CARE remanufacturing operation in Bauxite, Arkansas, US, and
oversees a variety of operations including lattice and mobile hydraulic crane
rebuilds, component repair, reconditioning programs, used parts and component
rebuild, and exchange activities.
Hardin reports to Scott Alexander, general manager of Manitowoc Crane CARE
Americas, and provides leadership and strategic direction for the development
and growth of the remanufacturing business. Hardin takes over from Ron
Schumacher, who is retiring after 20 years in the industry. Schumacher will
remain with Manitowoc Remanufacturing as a consultant.
Scott Alexander paid tribute to Schumacher and welcomed Hardin.
“Manitowoc Remanufacturing became a great success during Ron’s tenure, and he
played a major role in making it such a well-run enterprise,” Alexander said.
“However, we are certain David Hardin will continue Ron’s good work and the
future for our remanufacturing sector is looking very bright.”
Alexander said Hardin is well-qualified for the job, having held a variety of
general management and senior financial positions. He has extensive experience
in directing remanufacturing operations, having done so at Komatsu America and
Cummins Engine. Hardin has also taught at the University of Kentucky, Gatton
School of Business and Midway College in Midway, Kentucky. He holds a
Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in political science, and an MBA in finance, both
from Ohio State University.
