Grove’s YardBoss line improved and expanded to offer greater benefits and opportunities

YB7720XL
The YardBoss range of industrial cranes from Grove has been completely re-launched with improved features, new benefits, and a greater choice of models than ever before. The cranes are making their public debut at CONEXPO 2005, but there are a number of units already at work in the market.

There are now seven industrial cranes marketed by Grove as “YardBoss” industrial cranes, which are built under a supply agreement with Shuttlelift, based in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.

The YardBoss model that will be displayed at CONEXPO 2005, will be the YB7720XL which is an 18 t (20 USt) carry deck crane. The YB7720XL is the largest crane in the YardBoss line and offers a main boom of 20.4 m (67 ft.).

In total, there are seven new YardBoss models ranging in size from 7.7 t (8.5 USt) to 18 t  (20 USt) including two long boom or XL versions available in the YB4409XL and YB7720XL models.

Aside from excellent lifting capabilities, both on outriggers and in pick-and-carry applications, the YardBoss crane offers a number of benefits. For example, all units from the YB4409 through to the YB5518 are available with a choice of a standard dual fuel (gasoline/LP) or optional diesel engine. A pivoting boom head, which can be lowered for work in areas where headroom is limited, is available on the YB4411, YB5518, YB7720 and YB7720XL models. Four-wheel coordinated steering is offered as standard on the YB4409, YB4409XL, YB4411, and YB5515 models. The YB5518, YB7720 and the YB7720XL are equipped with standard 2 and 4 wheel steering and crab steer with electronic self alignment.

The YardBoss industrial crane products are sold through the Grove Industrial Crane and Grove Crane dealer network and are backed by Manitowoc Crane CARE’s after sales service. Tom McCallum, director of industrial crane sales at Manitowoc Crane Group, says the YardBoss name is well known in the industry and the response to this new line has been very positive.

“We’re using CONEXPO to showcase the YB7720XL and to highlight the improved features and benefits the new line-up offers. With a variety of models available, all backed up by the industry-leading Manitowoc Crane CARE division, the YardBoss line represents an excellent all round package.”
