Grove will display its new popular RT875E, as one of the highlights at the
Manitowoc Crane Group’s stand at CONEXPO 2005.
Rough-terrain cranes remain customer favorites for North American users and
according to David Birkhauser, senior vice president for North American sales
at Manitowoc Crane Group, CONEXPO 2005 is the perfect place to remind the
market of Grove’s premier position.
“We’ve worked very hard on our rough-terrain crane lines over the past few
years. Our E Series line is now complete and the response from the market has
been excellent. These units are proving popular not only in North America, but
also Latin America, Europe, and Asia,” he said. “We’ve listened hard to what
our customers want and have produced a new RT to meet their needs.”
The RT875E, 68 t (75 USt), has a four-section full-power boom capable of
extending from 12.6 m to 39 m (41 ft to 128 ft). There is also an offsetable
lattice swingaway extension offered which can add 10.1 m to 17 m (33 ft to 56
ft) of reach. The boom on the RT875E features Grove’s MEGAFORM shaping.
Maximum available tip height (including jib and inserts) is 70.6 m (232 ft).
Power for the RT comes from a 179 kW (240 hp) electronically controlled
Cummins diesel engine. For improved operator comfort and visibility the cab is
able to tilt by 20°. Overall width is 3.3 m (10.8 ft) and overall height is
3.7 m (12.1 ft), while length of the unit is 15.5 m (50.9 ft). Gross vehicle
weight is 48.7 t (53.6 USt) when rigged in full working configuration.
Counterweight, auxiliary hoist and swingaway jib may be removed to further
reduce weight for transportation.
