Manitowoc Crane CARE goes global and unveils new customer rapid response teams
Manitowoc Crane CARE, one of the fastest growing divisions at Manitowoc Crane
Group, will demonstrate its global coverage and provide further details of its
services at this year’s CONEXPO 2005. Since the integration of Potain and
Grove into Manitowoc Crane Group, Manitowoc Crane CARE has become a
comprehensive source for global after-market support for all products spanning
the Manitowoc Crane Group offering.
That development work is now complete and the result is an international
office and dealer network covering parts, service, training, and documentation
which is second to none in the lifting industry. Rapid expansion plans have
seen Manitowoc Crane CARE rolled out initially in the Americas, then in the
EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region followed by the Asia-Pacific
region.
In North America there are now 120 Manitowoc Crane CARE dealers offering a
full range of support services. Of these, 16 dealers, operating from 55
locations, have attained the coveted Manitowoc Crane CARE Elite status. To
reach this level, companies must provide dedicated resources including
superior workshop facilities, yard lay-down areas sufficient for component
handing, state of the art welding equipment and field service vehicles – the
kind of equipment required to give immediate response expected by MCG
customers. The companies must also have an onsite document library and
training capabilities. The Elite program is proving a great success with many
companies currently in the process of updating their facilities in an effort
to achieve the prestigious status.
Other recent developments at Manitowoc Crane CARE have seen the division
integrate its software systems to streamline and simplify its parts ordering
procedures; expand its training programs with new training centers;
standardize practices including parts pricing and warranty; and open new parts
facilities around the world. At the company’s Annual Conference, held in
Nashville, Tennessee, last year, Crane CARE also announced the launch of a new
web-based GPX support program for all brands and a Crane CHECK inspection and
certification program.
The company is also launching its own line of branded consumables, which will
be officially unveiled at CONEXPO 2005. The range, which includes products
such as lubricant, O-ring sets and touch-up paint, are all supplied by leading
industrial manufacturers to precise specifications detailed by Manitowoc.
Larry Weyers, executive vice president of Manitowoc Crane CARE, says he is
looking forward to talking to customers about the newly expanded division.
“Manitowoc Crane CARE is about so much more than simply parts and service.
It’s about partnering with our customers and helping them improve their
business. Whether that’s training their staff, supplying technicians,
enhancing their operations, or improving their equipment, there are many ways
we can help. Hopefully by talking more with end users at CONEXPO we can help
make their businesses a greater success in 2005.”
