Manitowoc’s new National Crane Series 900H to be displayed at CONEXPO 2008
Manitowoc will display its new National Crane Series 900H boom truck at CONEXPO 2008, March 11 – 15 in Las Vegas. The 900H is the newest addition to the National Crane product line and features a patent-pending control console technology called “Easy Reach”. The console itself moves from one side of the truck to the other, depending on which side the operator needs to work from. Unlatching the spring-assisted console allows for effortless movement into the transport and operation positions.
According to Ruben Olivas, global product manager for boom trucks and truck cranes, this feature is a tremendous time-saver for operators.
“When the operator has to move between the load on the ground and the controls on the truck, there is no need to constantly walk around the bed to reach the controls or climb over the payload to reach the ground,” he said. “It improves productivity and lets the operator finish and move to the next job faster.”
In addition, a pilot-controlled hydraulic system allows for superior precision and smooth control for the operator.
The National Crane 900H is available with three different boom lengths: 105 ft, 95 ft and 69 ft. Capacity is 27 USt at a 5 ft radius and a 25 ft to 44 ft jib is optional. Maximum boom tip height with the jib is 158 ft.
The 900H’s load sensing hydraulic system means fast, smooth operation in the field. And the H-style “out and down” multi-span outriggers allow for fast, safe set-up in a variety of jobsite conditions.
The boom truck also features a load moment indicator with graphical display, winch and anti-two block control and WADS (work area definition system).
The National 900H is available with the crane mounted behind the cab or at the rear of the truck with a rider seat.
