Grove will highlight its continuing focus on innovation, reliability, utilization, and ease of operation at bauma 2007. The globally recognized mobile crane brand will show new cranes, including the GMK5095, its latest five-axle all-terrain crane. The Grove GMK4100-L and the latest rough-terrain crane, the RT540CE, will also be featured.

The GMK4100-L (a long-boom version of the GMK4100 launched last year) is making its first public appearance. It offers an impressive 60 m seven-section main boom which telescopes to full height in less than nine minutes. With the addition of a jib, tip height can extend to 83 m. Close cooperation between engineers at Manitowoc Crane Group means the GMK4100-L is perfect for erecting many Potain tower cranes.

The GMK4100-L shares several features with the GMK4100 including Grove’s new carrier cab first introduced in 2006. The cab includes Grove’s ECOS® electronic control system and a high-visibility control panel, among other ergonomic features. Of further benefit for users is improved fuel consumption on the GMK4100-L compared with other cranes in its class. This is achieved through a weight-saving design andthe 295 kW Mercedes-Benz carrier engine which provides optimum power.

Representing Grove’s RT range at bauma 2007 is the new RT540CE – the latest crane from the Manitowoc Crane Group facility in Niella Tanaro, Italy. The 35 t RT540CE has a 31 m four-section boom. An offsettable telescopic swing-away jib extends tip height to 47 m.

Other features include a 4.5 t counterweight, load moment, and anti-two block system. Also included are dual-axis electric joysticks and a new all-steel cab. A 40 ton US capacity crane, designated RT540E, is available from the MCG facility in Shady Grove, Pennsylvania, US.
